Mixed media: wood, cement, sackcloth, plaster, Mary, mourning nature presents a poignant image of grief, loss, and compassion. As she holds a dead branch in her arms as though it were her dead son Christ, mourning for the sacred body shifts into mourning for dying nature. The work connects religious imagery with a contemporary ecological awareness, turning Mary into a universal symbol of care, suffering, and maternal loss.
